Since there is no snow, we bundled up at played outside for the afternoon.

AND headed for the park.

Cody is pretty good at this bike, and is a good sport about wearing his helmet.

When he gets to a bump or a hill he hops off and pushes his bike....hahah

We played til our noses were red and runny.

Then came home and had hot n ready pizza from little cesars.

We watched cupcake wars, which Trey beat me with his toys, then dispicable me.

And all fell asleep in front of the tv.

All but Trey. He crawled across my face...

Adventures of Blankey: Trey

Trey is equally as attached to his "dee dee" which he named, not us.

He sticks his finger in the corners of the satin where the "holes" folds are, while he has a bottle. It's a comfort thing is my guess.

I love that they love them so much, especially since I made them.

It makes me think they appreciate me (I know they do, but you know toddlers).

Adventures of Blankey: Cody

That when I made Cody his "blankey" when he was a baby, that he'd become SO attached to it.

It pretty much goes with us everywhere.

It gets dragged on the dirty floor.

He wipes his dirty hands, face, and nose on it.

He recently started wading it up and calling it his "airplane blankie".

Whenever I try to wash it while he's awake it's a MELTDOWN, the entire time, in fact I came back down stairs and he had pulled it out of the dryer and was clenched onto it, and the blanket was sopping wet.

Chocolate Butterscotch Scotcherooos

1 cup corn syrup

1 cup white sugar

1 cup peanut butter

6 cups of golden grahms

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

Cook corn syrup and sugar until it begins to boil, remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, then cereal. Press into a 9x13 pan. Melt chips together and spread over top. It says to let it cool for 15 minutes, but I can't.

I think in my Mother's womb there are free weights and steroids.

My brothers and I were all born....well...built.

I have no choice in the matter but to work with what I have and tone that up!

So here are the results.

1/3 way done with this challenge.

I feel a lot stronger, flexible, and more fit.

We have a 2003 Honda Pilot.

I love our car.

It's used, but it's exactly what I wanted.

Seeing as how we have a ~~stupid~~ car payment, I want out car to feel, look, and smell as good as the day we drove it off the lot.

I have a dust buster which I use in it ONCE a week, sometimes more.

Also, I armoral the dash once a week.

Annnnnd I windex the windows about once a month.

But thanks to my children, you will never be able to tell.

Long story short, don't judge "Mom" cars. You might get slapped.

It's been one of my other goals to try and get "dressed" more.

I love my sweat pants but sometimes I get down when I look in the mirror. SICKNASTY!

This is hard too when I am trying to work out 5 days a week.

I work out at night. Go to bed with wet hair.

Wake and try to make something of the wild beast on my head.

Lots of deodorant, body splash, etc.

Some nights after working out I don't shower, just let the nasty sweat dry and baby wipe myself down.

Then THAT next morning smother my hair in dry shampoo.

Seems to be working cause I keep working out, and I am getting dressed once in a while...

I go through these phases where I want something really really bad, but I don't need it at all.

I mean I guess it's normal.

Although it makes me feel super "wordly".

I pretty much rotate through these few things.

1. Hair Extensions.

DUMB!

This is why hair grows, and this is why we don't cut it.

Plus it's an arm and a leg!

2. Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag.

I am still in the "I want this suuuuuper bad" phase.

All the handy pockets, the optional backpack straps.

Freaking adorable.

I have a diaper bag, I don't "need" this one.

But I found them used online for more affordable....

3. Iphone 4 8G

Why.

I have internet at home.

I have an ipod touch.

I don't know why I want one of these so bad.

Especially when data plans are $30 plus a month!

I need my rape whistle!

My baby is a sunbeam.

HOLY PETE.

I love this kid.

He is too funny.

And lately he lovesssss carrots.

Not sure why.

Also sleeps in our bed every single night.

I roll over on top of him and then try to take him back to bed.

Sometimes it works.

Sometimes it doesn't.

Either way I will blink twice and he'll be leaving home so I am just going to love him now, and his bed hogging abilities.

I've put on about 7 lbs since this summer.

GASP.

I don't really notice it until I wear my jeans and I wonder if I painted them on, or just put them on like regular peeps.

Kevin got me the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred for Christmas.

Not because he thinks I am fat.

But because I took him to target and put it in his hands.

I am trying to tone up and dump about 10 lbs in the next 30 days or so.

(Don't judge me!)

And the arrows are my "problem" areas.

hahahaha my boob isn't a problem! That was supposed to point to my arms...

The boys were helping me do my video tonight....

Well.

They made for good weight resistance.

But at least I have positive support.

I wish I knew why Cody and I have always butted heads.

As a baby obviously we got along but as soon as he could walk, I was pregnant with his brother.

And sometimes I feel like having Trey made Cody love me less.

Which makes sense too because Cody doesn't always care for Trey.

I know this is crazy talk but it's true.

Whenever Kevin is home he wants NOTHING to do with me.

It's him and Daddy against the world. Doing their manly man crud.

Once in a greeeeeeeaaaaaaat while Cody will request for me.

To which I drop EVERYTHING and go running to his beck and call.

Tonight he requested to cuddle with Mom.

Kevin handed him a cookie on his way to lay down with me...

He bit into the cookie, broke it in half and said "Here ya go MOM"...

I took it and wanted to cry.

This is SO rare. I am not saying Cody isn't a wonderful kid.

He brings me daily joy I cannot explain.

Cody is his own kid. He knows what he wants, and that is WHAT HE WANTS.

If he doesn't want cuddled then screw you, it's not happening.

If he wants fruit snacks when I say no...he'll pull a stool up and get them himself.

I love his determined spirit. And I love his "engineer" mind. Always getting his tools out and trying to figure out how things work and run. He could live at home depot if we let him!

We stayed home for Christmas again this year, but had no company either.

So it was only us. Nice and quiet.

They boys got to open 1 present on Christmas eve which of coarse was Jammies or as Cody calls them "Jismeees!". Lightning Mcqueen!

It's funny how I am just now being able to get pics of them together.

Christmas morning! BIKES!

What what!

Don't be fooled.

Trey doesn't really like his, and Cody can't seem to pedal his.

Meh. Who cares!

Trey calls sunglasses his "SOCOOLS!".

He sang to us all morning while wearing his shades.

What a rockstar. Just sayin.

AND we made our very first Christmas dinner.

I'm an official bloggin slacker.
And I just don't care :)

I thought I'd post about my sweet boys and the funny things they do and say.

Just in the past month or two has Cody started caring for Trey. The whole reason we had Trey was to give Cody a buddy, and he hasn't much cared for him since day 1. BUT now they are starting to play and get along. Which is HEAVENLY.

CODY:
Talks A LOT. You can hardly understand him (if you're not me), but he tries.
Goes to Joy School every Wednesday and has a blast.
Narrates our life for us and movies.."MOM A TRAIN!!" "We're going to the store"..
Has given up napping completely but seems to like going to bed at night a whole lot more.
LOVES Mac and cheese, peanut butter and honey sandwhiches, bacon, cereal, yogurt, ramen noodles, chicken nuggets, apples, carrots, MILK....etc.
Is quite a terrible listener, but indeed is VERY sweet. Knows just how to butter me up.
When placed in time out he insists "but I'm SORRY!!" then sometimes comes out of time out saying "I'm not sorry!". KIDS!
I wake almost every night with Cody laying in bed next to me, to which, I scoop him up and put him back in his bed (unless it's past 6 am, cause then it's just free cuddles!)
Sings lots and lots of songs.
When he see's signs or anything starts pointing and saying "E e e e f g!" As if he is trying to spell it out.
Loves to bake with his Mom.

TREY:
Chatter box! Says Milk, Mom, Dad, cheese, kitty, ball, bottle, dee dee (blanket), amen!, Train, please, thank you, AND BEYOND (after you say "to infinity!"), BOO! Ect....
As posted above will whisper during prayers and yell out AMEN! Long before anyone is done praying.
Climbs climbs climbs.
Loves to read books and be read to.
Taking baths is a favorite pastime, and during said time throws out all toys.
HATES diaper changes. He will yell potty and sit on the actual toilet. But never goes potty, just wants to be like Cody.
Plays really well with toys by himself.
Loves RIO! Dances the whole time.
Puts up a good fight now if Cody takes a toy, but never ever hits.
Helps clean up toys without ever being asked.
Loves the pool (we went last weekend).
Coloring is a daily must for him.

One night our boys were taking a bath and as Trey started to climb out Cody yelled "GET YER BUNS DOWN TREEEE!"
We had a good laugh.

We love love love our boys and all the chaos and love they bring into our life.

Thanksgiving 2011

We spent Thanksgiving at the Cabin in Island Park, Idaho.

It twas glorious.

Even being in Idaho soil is a pleasure for me.

The last 2 days at the cabin were a MESS. Everyone had caught a stomach bug otherwise known as the plague! To top off the fun apparently the tanks of water were out? (I have no idea what that meant cause I don't listen. I don't!) and so as we were cleaning up leaving snow was melted to wash dishes by hand! AHH! Okay. As if I cleaned. I was busy dying. I left the cleaning to the healthy kids.

It was a trip not to be forgotten.

My baby boy is 3.

This is insane.

Kids cannot grow this fast.

Cody's vocabulary and speech has EXPLODED in the last few months.

Heck in the last few weeks.

He knows all his colors and letters.

He knows the words to all of his songs.

He tells you what he sees and what's going on at all times.

Cody has been come less terrible and more helpful which I am LOVING.

I didn't say 100% better just getting better.

He's our funny boy and we LOVE him.

My cousin invited me to go and play for the day with their family, my Grandma, and my Aunt while they were in Salem. Did I go? Yes I did!

I feel like in this picture you would have no doubt that we all are related...

We "hiked" Payson Canyon to this pretty waterfall.

The whole trail was covered in mud and wet leaves, and that I loved because it smelled like fall. Hmmm..

Afterwards we went to a park for some lunch.

Hot and Ready's of coarse.

Trey decided they tasted better while doing yoga.

On our way to the Santaquin Pumpkin Patch Trey passed out.

Which is cool because then he allowed others to hold him.

While watching for our hay ride to come back we played in this stellar truck.

It was FREE.

So free dinner and dessert as well.

I love having boys.

They are wild and busy, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Trey LOVES his sunglasses.

We put them on him and say "Oh SO COOOL!".

He takes them off but then whines to have them back on.

I crowned myself the best mom in the world award.

Last Sunday I was nice enough to let Cody polish my toes nails.

And they still look this way.

Kids eat free at IKEA on tuesdays.

So you'll never guess where we eat every tuesday?

Yep.

We had a week of sickies.

Unpleasant.

We never sleep in this house. I swear.

AND it's football season.

We go outside every afternoon waiting for Daddy to come home and while we wait we usually play with sidewalk chalk or bubbles. During this time my 13 month old little boy bolts for the box of chalk. And eats it. Sucks on it. Ect.

He also carries it in his mouth while crawling.

For Labor Day we decided to take our boys to the zoo.

And so did all of the Salt Lake Valley.....

None the less. We had a blast.

Compared to Cody at 1 year, he sure is.

He's our sweet love.

Loves to be held by Mom or Dad (and only them, anyone else gets a screaming baby.....)

Eats like a champ! Will eat just about anything I give him (no scrambled eggs please!)

Crawls up AND down the stairs! Yes! I just haaate baby gates being 5 feet tall. I always wack my shins and lady parts.

We are just keeping busy enjoying the last bit of our summer.

August 4th Trey turned 1.

We had a small Toy Story themed birthday party for him.

The table from hell {Or should go to hell}

Two summers ago my favorite table and chair set was on sale for $175....I struck while the iron was hot. We needed a table and chairs, and it seemed reasonable to me.

Since then it has been DESTROYED.

I know I am hard on things, but this table is a joke!

It scratches like a block of cheese!

The stain was removed completely twice.

Once from scented oil....the other clear nail polish....

I had HAD IT.

I drug that piece of crap outside and sanded til I could see wood.

In our basement was a 1/2 gallon of red paint from the previous owners.

Perfect.

I painted it. Sealed it.

And now......

She is red.

I just have to say that even though Kevin is working 100 plus hours each week I am trying to find the positive side of it.

He's got to be looking good to his boss, and learning a lot, he always never has to do a thing in the home, so that's got to be a relief.y

I am finding that the more he is working, the more I have to step up as a Mother.

I've been playing a lot more.

and cleaning A LOT less.

Trying with my every fiber to be better.

This is why they are both covered in dirt, chocolate, and sidewalk chalk.

When I am not attempting to be SUPER MOOOOM, I relax, and try to forget about any laundry.

Luckily one of the best feature of our entire house is our huge jetted tub....

A variety of bubble baths...

Nice glass of water and some reading material.....

Ahhhhh..

Wasn't all bad!

I got called "Old Lady" about 8 times.

But you know, it's cool.

Kevin returned home from work at 8 am on Sunday morning so my Birthday didn't start until four o clock that afternoon when he woke.

We had Kyle and Kourtney over for Terriaki chicken cabobs including pineapple, red bell peppers, and onions. Kevin also grilled us corn on the cob...hmmmm......

One of my new friends in the ward made me an ice cream cake, I know right?

My brother and sister in law, annnd my sister in law came by and brought me goodies.

How lucky I am to be surround by these people.

Once the sun went down we headed outside so Kevin and Kyle could play....

Hmmmm FEAST!

The good & The bad

Bad -My husband didn't come home from work til 8 am this morning

Good- He has a job, and we have a house, full bellys, ect.

Bad- Cody has been in time out 3 times today.

Good- We are going to the splash park today, and nothing will get me down.

Bad- I can't bake cookies when it's hot, it heats up the house all the more.

Good- This is why ice cream was invented.

Bad-I turn 25 on Sunday, over the hill....

Good- Kevin gets the entire day off, and I am still young so I should shut my yapper.

Bad- Trey still isn't crawling like a regular baby...

Good- He still gets around no problemo......

Here is my kitchen in all it's glory.

Normally there would be a lot more food on the floor and crap on the counter....

But seeing as how I knew you would be stopping by, I cleaned up house!

(also in this cleaning I found 2 pairs of our missing nail clippers.....)

I love my knotty alder cabinets, although I always had dreams of white ones, these ones are indeed gorgeous and a good choice...

Please note my bar stools. I sold my old ones for $25 and got these for $20.

That's how I roll.

I have plans to paint this kitchen green, but not as bright as I was planning before.

I think it might just clash with the earthy tones I already have from the cabinets and tile floor.

Don't you think?

In the mean time I will continue to get the rest of the casa ready for you to see.

We spent nearly the last week at the Cabin in Island Park, Idaho.

It was spectacular.

Here are a few of the things we did....

Had lunch with Grandpa

Snuggled with Grandma

(only the twins did)

Rode manly looking four wheelers

Played catch with Grandpa

Enjoyed a fab sunset

Stuffed Grandpa's snoring mouth with an Oreo

Ate lots of yummy food

Hmmmm

Fed the "fish" cheerios

(no fish were seen)

Took quick pics before kids fell in river..

Had a melt down..

or two...

Another great sunset? Yes please.

Sew sew sew!

Sleep. Sometimes. Or throw fits half the night.

Whichever...

Okay hate is a strong word.

But I dislike summer.

Mainly the heat, and then being bent over in air conditioning bills.

Mainly I don't like that my husband works 15 hour days, and will work 2-3 weeks straight.

Pooooor pooorr mee!

Go with me to 7-11 for slurpees (banana and coke mixed together = heaven!)

offer a friendly trip to wander target for clearance items

take me to sonic for happy hour (2-4 pm)

Invite me to any swimming event, or anything with water...

Basically anything that will keep me cooled off and hydrated, and busy.

I mean I can't avoid all this laundry and house work on my own!

Most days I say 'I'll do that after the kids go to bed', and don't.

Most days we watch too much tv.

Most days I should take a nap, but avoid it.

Most days I do dishes, just to re do them over and over and over and over...

Most days I wish I would excercise, but think, I'll start that next week.

Trey is 10 Months

Yesterday Trey turned 10 months old.

Trey now can/does:

Army crawl (using only shoulders and tippy toes)

Roll across the house at lightning speeds

Eat just about anything, and looooves food

Snatch up his brother's sippy and helps himself

Has 3 teeth! 2 on the bottom, 1 on top

Claps

High fives

At the store I gave him a pinwheel to hold and he started "ffffffffffffffffffffff.....fffffffffffff" making this blowing sound at it, I was amazed! Cody taught him this. I love it.

Repeats a lot of noises (DA!)

Stubborn?! Me??

It's true.

You know it and I know it.

I. Am. Stubborn.

and I haaaaaate it.

I think I am stubborn in some ways and other's not so much.

I am going to do my very best to explain what I mean here, and you are going to listen to me...

I feel I am stubborn in the way that once I've made up my mind or made a decision, I have a very hard time letting that go. For Example:

I decided to potty train Cody a little early and very randomly.

Then realized it was a hard time in my life to be taking on such a project.

I tried to stop the training, and what happened?

I cried like a baby over what a failure I was....

I decided that when Cody was born I did NOT want him to have a binky.

I hated the thought of toddlers walking around with pacifiers in their mouths that were in my mind waaay to old for them.

So therefore, if I never started him on one, he would never have to wean.

He was 3 weeks old screaming his head off to nurse 24/7 and there I sat on the phone crying to the lactation specialist. She said "well have you tried a pacifier?" to which I said "No, I just don't want him to be 5 years old with a binky..." and she said with some attitude "Then he won't!"....

By the time Cody was 1 year old, binky was gone...

When we bought this house I wanted Cody and Trey to share a room.

It's a 3 bedroom house with a landing/loft, and a 850 sf unfinished basement.

We have room to grow if needed.

But I want a guest bedroom.

So the boys share, and to which isn't going that well.

Some nights are fine, and others I wonder if the waking randomly is due to sharing...

I've had 1 person sleep in that room so far, and it's not like if someone came to stay I couldn't let the boys share for just 1 night, but I made the decision already...

Changing my mind is pretty much in my mind saying that I have failed at the task at hand...

PLUS if they separate I am decorating Trey his own little room...just a side note....

Does anyone else feel this way??

I need to relax before I consider stress a failure as well!

I don't think it's any secret that I love to bake.

And further more I don't think it's any secret that I have a massive sweet tooth.

(Please oh please someone buy me this necklace!

I bake chocolate chip cookies twice a week.

Why not one big batch once a week?

Because they would get dry...that's why.

I have it down to an art.

I can get it done in less than 20 minutes with minimal mess.

This was I don't have to buy store bought cookies, and I usually let Cody help me.

I can't cook very well, and I don't enjoy a good roast like I do a sweet.

After I came home from Enrichment last night, Kevin pulled me outside to show me something.

To be perfectly honest I was hoping it was our neighbors dog, dead, and burried.....

but it was grass! We planted some and it grew!

We have plenty of grass you see

The previous owners had three....yes three full size dogs.

Our yard is pretty small, so there are trails and patches everywhere missing grass.

Idiots.

Good thing my husband is handy...

My next yard project will be to get a trampoline.

When one is feeling down

I don't cry much.

Really, I don't.

I've become stone, except to my children.

If my feelings get hurt, I suppress them until a later date.

I've been slightly lonely lately.

I know it's the move.

Kevin working nights leaves me alone at home a lot.

And I left all my old friends back in Draper.

I haven't made new ones yet.

My house is still messy as all goodness.

I am overwhelmed.

But at this very minute I am in a jolly mood.

A busy one.

Motivated.

Let's get stuff done I say!

Last week I was mildly weepy.

I felt scared that I owned the house I was in, or that it owned me, for life!

No new friends yet.

So what did I do?

I watched a favorite movie of mine.

Dan in real life.

Best movie ever.

And when this scene came on I was glad to be alone.

I left the tears fall and fall.

Silently.

Then went to bed.

Trey is 9 months

May 4th Trey turned 9 months.

Stats:

Weight 18lbs-25%

Height 27.5 inches-25%

Head...no idea I wasn't listening...25%

It's very odd not having a butterball for a baby, seeing as Cody nearly weighed 20-some pounds at this point, but also very nice not to have to lug around all that weight.

Trey now can:

Eat smaller finger foods by himself

Slap the spoon out of my hand during his feeding

Roll across the house, but isn't crawling in any form (I don't mind at all)

Has 2 teeth, which is awesome while nursing

(like getting a massage from someone wearing rings....)

Likes yelling over loud things example: Vacuum, hair dryer, mixer, lawn mower

"Baps" dang near everything.

Bapping is when you hit something quick, as if you made the sound "bap!"

So one of Trey's many nicknames is Bapperton.

We love his so much.
