I personally LOVE doing this with my hair. If you have no idea what I am talking about, then get with the times. Here is a picture.
Don't mind the monster side burns I've been growing out ...cricket cricket.....
I think these are cute as long as they are fairly smooth and no TOO BIG.
This one above is a little messy, so sue me!

That is not a "utard" silly, you obviously haven't lived in the state long enough yet;) Yours is very cute, but your hair's always cute, no real question there. A "utard", tends to be ratted on the sides of the head and not so much the top/crown of the head. Then to have official "ugly utah hair" you must flat iron the ends, creating a perfect square of hair around your face. Volume on top, good! Weird poofs on the side of your head, you are an officially nasty Utah girl.
I love the poof on top. I can never get mine to do that. No matter how much I try to tease it it never works.
I could never get mine to do it until I got a bump it. I love it! Flat hair is SOOO LAST YEAR. ;) I do hate the square head that Liz is talking about and the rats nest look. Like you said, it has to be smoof. Like butta.
I love it!! I just wish I could do it - but it never looks right when I try... Maybe one day.
