how to: re-vamp old wedges

Here is a step by step photo tutorial on how to re-vamp or re fashion older shoes...

1. Pick pair of shoes you would like to make over. Hello wedges!
2. Introduce wedges to 2 pieces of remnant fabric ...
"$4 DI wedges I'd like you to meet $2 Remnant Fabric scraps from Joanns."
3. Find some sort of bead or jewel embelishment. I went with Jewels from a hand me down skirt I have yet to wear....
4. Take corner of fabric and tie in a knot, with as short as a tail as possible, and start twisting the long fabric behind it....
5. Lay a thin line of hot glue and the knot and begin twist and wrapping fabric around the knot...like so...
6. Keep going, twisting, gluing, and wrapping....
7. When you are almost done place a dab of hot glue on the back and tuck the end underneath. Then place a gob of hot glue in the center right over the knot. Add jewel embelishment.
8. Take shoe and cover the toe area with hot glue, don't be shy, you don't want this falling off.
9. Repeat for other shoe...
And WA-LA!
There you have brand new, one of a kind, wedges!
Now all I need is toe nail polish and a tan....
